Here’s an early Christmas surprise. The 2026 editions of the LEGO advent calendars just came out on September 1, but Walmart already has them deeply discounted. You can get the Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney calendars for $35 each, down from $45.
It’s anyone’s guess how long this deal will last, so grab it quick if you want it, even though you’ll have to wait three months to open the first mini-build.
2026 LEGO Advent Calendars on Sale
This year, the licensed advent calendars cover Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney Princesses – notably missing is Harry Potter. These are on sale for $35 each, down from an MSRP of $45. (Note: Walmart has them listed at $59.99, but that’s not the MSRP shown on the official LEGO Store or Amazon). Then there are calendars based on the LEGO-made themes Friends and City. These are on sale for $25 each, down from $35.
Advent calendars, for those who don’t know, are meant to help kids (or adults!) count down the days to Christmas. Every day between December 1 – 24, you open one small perforated door on the LEGO box to reveal a tiny compartment containing a LEGO micro-build. Each day’s build comes in a bag and is made of just a handful of pieces. On the inside of the door flap you’ll find a simple diagram showing how to assemble the build.
The builds might be a minifigure with an accessory or two, or a little vehicle, piece of furniture, or decorative piece based on whatever calendar you pick. The builds are often Christmas-themed, as you might expect. In this year’s Marvel set, for instance, you’ll get a Captain America snowman, Wolverine in an X-Men sweater, and Spider-Man on skis, plus wrapped presents and a micro Avengers Helicarrier. The Star Wars set has Grogu in a scarf and a Christmas-colored X-Wing.
These aren’t the biggest LEGO sets by a long shot, but they offer a fun little surprise each day in December during the lead-up to Christmas. I buy one of these sets for my son every year, and he loves taking a couple of minutes each morning to put them together. I love seeing the adorable little micro-builds myself as well.
I’ve been covering LEGO advent calendars for half a dozen years now, and I’ve never seen them go on sale this soon after release. However, they do often sell out as we get closer to Christmas, so this is a great time to pick up whatever calendar you or your child wants this year. Just put it in the closet and set a reminder to pull it out once December 1 rolls around.
