The LEGO Castle brand has been around since the late ’70s, when it became one of the Big Three in-house themes: Castle (past), Town (present), and Space (future). More recently, however, the brand has been dormant, save for some anniversary sets that celebrated past glories. The LEGO Lion Knights’ Castle (2022) was a homage and expansion of the 1984 original, and the Medieval Town Square (2024) was a homage to the Medieval Market Village of 2009.
Best LEGO Castle Sets of 2026
Currently, there is one available set (listed below) that keeps with the classic LEGO Castle theme. The others are mostly third-party properties, but they still have what we love about the core theme: the Old World romance, the dramatic spires, and the stately ambience.
Here are the best LEGO Castle builds available for purchase in 2026.
Beauty and the Beast Castle
LEGO Disney is famous for its princess castles, and this one, which we built and reviewed for its launch, is one of its best. So much love went into the decoration and layout of the Beauty and the Beast Castle, which reproduces numerous settings from the animated film, including the ballroom and the “Be Our Guest” dining room (complete with spinning plates). It even has a West Wing, which contains a single, wilting rose encased in glass.

Mini Disney Ariel’s Castle
A simple, pretty build, this miniature version of Ariel’s Castle is topped with golden spires accented by pink peaks. It sits on an ocean floor base, and it comes with an Ariel minidoll, suspended midair on a clear accessory.
Battle at Drum Castle
Inspired by Netflix’s live-action One Piece, this set captures the climactic Season 2 battle, in which Luffy and his pirate gang defeat the deranged King Wapol. This is an ambitious multi-tiered build, it even comes with a tiny Tony Tony Chopper minifgure.

The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith
At 8,000+ pieces, LEGO Minas Tirith is the biggest Lord of the Rings set ever designed. From the front, it depicts the seven-tiered White City of Gondor, in all its epic glory. From the back, it’s a minifigure-scaled cross-section of the throne room. We reviewed this set at launch, and we named it as one of the best LEGO sets we’ve ever built.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Unlike the other builds on this list, Neuschwanstein Castle is an actual location in Bavaria, Germany. Built by King Ludwig II in 1886, the castle would later serve as the inspiration for Walt Disney World’s Cinderella’s Castle.

Medieval Horse Knight Castle
The one classic LEGO Castle build on this list, the Medieval Horse Knight Castle is a 3-in-1 build, which means you can rebuild it as a jousting tournament or a medieval village if you get bored with it. The set comes comes with six minifigures and two factions: the Horses and the Serpents.
Hogwarts Castle
A renowned LEGO build that launched in 2018, this massive depiction of Hogwarts Castle has yet to be retired, despite its considerable lifespan. It includes The Great Hall, The Main Tower, and the East Wing, plus four unique minifigures of the four Hogwarts founders: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin.
Hogwarts Castle – The Main Tower
In 2024, LEGO began releasing an unprecendently large, minifigure-scaled depiction of Hogwarts Castle. But rather than releasing the entire set in one box – which would have cost a prohibitively large sum – LEGO decided to release it piecemeal, one wing at a time. The Great Hall, unfortunately, is retired (try your luck on the secondary market), but the Main Tower, which features the Gryffindor common room and the Sorcerer’s Stone trials, is still available.

Hogwarts Castle – Hospital Wing
The Hogwarts Hospital Wing is another main set in Hogwarts modular build, including both the Ravenclaw Common Room and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Like the other Hogwarts sets, this one is mounted on a rock base, which allows for more detail in the basement beneath the main structure.
Hogwarts Castle – The East Wing
By piece count, this is the largest Hogwarts Castle set available. The East Wing includes the bridge that connects it to the Great Hall and Main Tower, and its interior includes the Slytherin Common Room and the Chamber of Secrets, which features a basilisk and a massive stone head of Salazar himself.

How Many LEGO Castle Sets Are There?
As of August 2026, there are 19 LEGO Castle-themed sets available for purchase on the official LEGO store, according to the site’s handy search filter.
What Does the Future of LEGO Castle Look Like?
It’s worth noting that none of the LEGO castle sets currently on sale are part of the LEGO Castle brand; the LEGO Lion Knights’ Castle retired at the end of 2025, and the Medieval Blacksmith set retired at around the same time. These current castles are featured parts of a larger theme, not the central theme themselves.
The LEGO Castle brand is on hiatus. Like most things, the public interest will determine whether we see a true resurgence of it. But until then, these distinctive castles could tide you over or inspire you to create your own medieval designs.
