Note that Meta raised the retail price of the Meta Quest 3 from $500 to $600 back in April of this year.

The Quest 3’s closest competition is the recently released Steam Frame, but that’s only if you disregard the cost; with this deal, the Quest 3 is less than half the cost of a Steam Frame. Because of that, I still think the Meta Quest 3 is the best standalone consumer-oriented VR headset. It’s certainly a significant upgrade compared to its less expensive Quest 3S sibling. The two share the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, Touch Plus controllers with inside-out tracking, and mixed reality passthrough. However, the Quest 3 has a higher resolution, higher FOV display with a much wider focused sweet spot thanks to its superior pancake lens design. The Quest 3 also has much more onboard storage. I own it myself (and I reviewed it for IGN) and have logged over a thousand hours in Beat Saber alone.
