Everything Coming to Prime Video in November

November is one of the most important times of the year for Amazon, thanks to Black Friday sales. So it’s not surprising that Amazon’s Prime Video would have an absolutely stacked slate of upcoming releases to entice new subscribers this month.

Along with the usual dump of movies getting added to the platform on November 1, we’ll get quite a few highly anticipated Prime Video Originals. There’s a Muhammand Ali series, Season 3 of Rings of Power, the Madden Movie, and a new Blade Runner series all premiering this month.

If you’re wondering how to make the most of your Prime Video subscription this month, I’ve curated a quick selection of movies and shows that are absolutely worth your time. You can also jump to the full list of November releases to see the full breakdown by day.

What’s Worth Watching?

Jingle All the Way – November 1

Amazon, like every other streaming service, is dropping a bunch of Christmas movies onto its streaming service starting on November 1. Among this year’s selection, there’s one somewhat hidden gem worth highlighting: Jingle All the Way.

This is an Arnold Schwarzenegger film where he plays a mattress salesman who promises to get his son the year’s hottest toy for Christmas, only to find out it’s sold out everywhere. It’s a ridiculous movie centered around consumerism that everyone needs to watch at least once.

The Greatest – November 4

The Greatest is a Prime Video Original biographical sports drama about the life of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. This limited series runs for eight episodes (all of which drop at once), and will detail the early life, career, and rise of his boxing career. Jaelen Best plays the role of Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali.

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 3 – November 11

Amazon’s big-budget Lord of the Rings show is back for Season 3, with all eight episodes dropping throughout November. This latest season will feature a significant time jump of five years, allowing Sauron and Gandalf to become the center of the story.

It’s been a full two years since the last episode, but you can take a look at our review of Season 2 for a quick refresher on where we left off.

Madden – November 18

John Madden was a legend in the NFL community. He was a head coach, a broadcaster, and is quite literally the name associated with the popular Madden NFL video game series. Now that a few years have passed since his death, Nicolas Cage is taking a crack and portraying him in a drama biography. Cage is joined by a stacked cast, including Christian Bale, Kathryn Hahn, Matt Medrano, and Sienna Miller.

Madden will be available in theaters on November 11 before releasing on Prime Video a week later.

Blade Runner 2099 – November 25

Taking place 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, this new series focuses on the power dynamic between replicants and humans shifting in the opposite direction. The show stars Hunter Schafer as a human pretending to be a replicant Blade Runner and Michelle Yeoh as an aging replicant Blade Runner in her final days. IGN had the chance to interview showrunner Silka Luisa, who called the series an “undercover police story” that’s “quintessential Blade Runner.”

All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 will drop at once on Prime Video on November 25. There’s also already a board game adaptation in the works for the series that will feature a different story.

Will There Be a Prime Video Deal for Black Friday?

Although Amazon tends to have one of the best Black Friday sales on the retail side of the business, they don’t tend to discount Prime Video subscriptions directly. The service does offer a free trial of Amazon Prime Video available that can get new subscribers access at no cost, and also has an always-on student discount. That’s as good as it’s going to get really.

Prime Video will most likely offer discounts on services indirectly by offering sales on Prime Video add-ons like Paramount+, but those deals won’t arrive until closer to Thanksgiving.
