LEGO has announced a new 5,682-piece set called LEGO Icons Venetian Neighborhood. It’s an intricate set depicting several Italian buildings situated on a canal, with a bridge connecting them. It’s a well populated Venice scene, as it includes 17 minifigures.
The price fits the high piece count; it costs $549.99 and is scheduled to release November 1 for LEGO Insiders (you can sign up here for free) or November 4 for everyone else. You can view the listing here, but preorders are not available.
LEGO Icons Venetian Neighborhood
It’s a lovely set that includes, according to the official description, a “luxury villa, an artisan glassblowing workshop and astronomical clock tower.” The buildings are built in a modular way that lets you remove roofs and entire floors to see the detailed interiors. In addition, the set can be separated into two distinct sections to create alternate display layouts, keeping things fresh.
Also included is a long gondola that fits neatly under the arched bridge. The 17 minifigures populating the neighborhood include gondoliers, musicians, tourists, and two carnival-goers dressed in costumes and masks. Also included is a 3D-printed street piano piece (you can see a close-up of it in the slideshow below).
Buying the set at the LEGO Store will also get you the LEGO Icons Venetian Water Taxi set (40898) as a free Gift With Purchase. It’s a 322-piece set containing a water taxi and a dock setting, plus captain and tourist minifigures, as well as two pigeon figures.
LEGO Venetian Neighborhood is the latest announcement in the LEGO Icons theme, which features somewhat intricate sets intended for adults or advanced builders. These sets are intended for display rather than play, and consist of things like impressive buildings, vehicles, and classic pop culture, well, icons. It’s a pretty loose theme as these things go, seeing as it fits everything from the massive LEGO Titanic set to a set based on Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. You can see all the current LEGO Icons sets here.
LEGO releases tend to peter out toward the end of the year, and that appears to be the case in 2026 as well. Including this one, only four sets have been announced for November, with a grand total of zero sets announced for December. However, we can expect a big new LEGO set to release on Black Friday, as is tradition. That set has yet to be announced.
