YouTube star Charles ‘MoistCr1TiKaL’ White is the mastermind behind a full-length animated movie adaptation of his very own comic, Godslap, set to release in theaters in 2028.
The film’s first teaser trailer was published on September 3, 2026, showing off the slick animation and smooth artwork from Powerhouse Animation, best known for its work on Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne and Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
As told by White in a YouTube video announcing the news, the Godslap movie follows Aius, a young man with the “incredibly strong gift of slapping.” However, his incredible power has made his father, Darius, extremely overprotective of him, fearing what could happen if he were to venture into the outside world.

“He is now, for the first time, venturing out from his farm where his father Darius has been kind of an overbearing a**hole trying to keep him away from the rest of the world out of fear for what that power could do,” White explained.
The YouTuber revealed that he first approached Powerhouse Animation about the project all the way back in 2018. At the time, however, he was unprepared for the sheer amount of money it’d take to finance such a venture and effectively ghosted the studio, resigning himself to the reality that his dream of adapting Godslap into an animated movie might be too expensive to ever realize.
Years passed… but three years ago, Powerhouse reached out to White saying they were interested in adapting the comic, which is still roughly two years away from being fully finished.
White says that he plans on releasing the movie in theaters, making it the second big influencer-led project to have a theatrical release following Markiplier’s indie horror Iron Lung earlier this year.
White said that he is the “sole financier” of the Godslap movie, and that he and the team behind the comic have been “involved every single step of the way.”
“This has been one of the biggest dreams I’ve had since I was a child, and I believe in it so strongly that I’ve been putting my money where my c**k is — millions, in order to bring this project to life and make it as big, as special, as unique as it can possibly be,” he said.
The YouTuber plans on sharing more information in the coming months, including voice talent, behind-the-scenes info, and more.
Speaking with Deadline, Lyrical Animation’s Creative Director, Daniel Dominguez, said the studio, which is co-developing the Godslap movie alongside Powerhouse, have been fans of White for a long time.
“Getting the opportunity to bring his anime-inflected, hilariously violent comic Godslap to life was a dream come true,” he said. “It’s one of the funniest, most non-stop surprising, and thematically urgent comics to come out in the last decade, and a perfect story to adapt as an animated feature.”
White has been involved in quite a few animated projects himself prior to the Godslap movie; gamers will recognize him as the voice of Sonar id Adhoc’s Dispatch, and anime fans might remember that he voiced a character in Netflix’s Baki series.
