Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Toy Story 5 are both making their way to Disney+ in September, where they’ll be joined by new episodes of The Simpsons and plenty of Hulu Originals. The only slice of Disney that isn’t seeing many streaming debuts this month is Marvel, but there’s already plenty of homework to work through before Avengers: Doomsday.

Disney+ is starting off September by crowning a winner in the new Dancing With the Stars spin-off, The Next Pro. Throughout the month, Disney+ will also be getting pretty much every episode from a selection of ESPN podcasts, starting with the The Mina Kimes Show and the Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective Podcast.

One of two particularly big movie premieres this month, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is landing on Disney+ after a pretty disappointing run at the box office. Our 5/10 review also wasn’t as positive as we’ve been about The Mandalorian TV series, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. Disney+ will be accompanying the release with an official podcast as well as the premiere of a new LEGO Mandalorian series.

Disney+ recently re-acquired the streaming rights to Pokemon, and kicked things off by dropping the first 26 episodes of the original Indigo League series. I was confused about the somewhat random selection of episodes, but it looks like Disney+ is going to be adding the Pokemon series in batches.

Like previous Sony Spider-verse movies, Kraven the Hunter is making its way to Disney+ after an 18-month stint at Netflix. We gave the film a particularly grim 3/10, and unfortunately it didn’t fare much better at the box office, ultimately leading to Sony’s abandonment of its Spidey spinoff franchise.

The other big streaming premiere of the month, Toy Story 5, is landing on Disney+ after crossing $1 billion at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing Toy Story movie so far. In the words of Clint Gage, who reviewed the Pixar sequel for IGN, “This time, the now-very-antique toys are faced with their most dangerous challenge yet… screen time.”

Disney+ Plans and Prices
Disney+ plans currently start at $11.99/month, and a free trial of the service is available through Hulu + Live TV.
Disney+ is one of the few streaming services that hasn’t announced a price hike in 2026, though the service did go up by $2 last October. ESPN recently increased the price of its own streaming plans, which led to price hikes on select Disney+ bundles.
