We’re in the thick of Amazon’s infamous Prime Day sale, and the retailer isn’t holding back on TV and movie deals. This four-day sale is easily one of the best times to add to your physical media collection, as you’ll have a hard time finding something that doesn’t have at least a slight discount.
I’ve scrolled a seemingly endless list to pull out deals that are genuinely good, but with any sale this big, I highly recommend taking some time to search for anything that may have been on your wishlist.
All Prime Day Movie and TV Deals
Have ideas in mind or just want to get scrolling? Go crazy. Otherwise, scroll on for some of our top picks out of the sale.
The Latest and Greatest
This is just a list of standout 4K movie deals, mainly focused on the most recent releases and particularly popular 4Ks at IGN. Recent hits include the most recent Best Picture winner, One Battle After Another, as well as fellow 2025 standouts, Sinners and Weapons. Going back a little further we have a spread of Christopher Nolan films as well as classics like The Fifth Element and Pulp Fiction.
Box Sets and Collections
Now this is where you can get some real bang for your buck. If you’re a fan of a particular franchise, box sets get you a full movie marathon in addition to a solid piece of decor. My top recommendation? You’ll never regret having your own copy of The Lord of the Rings trilogy or better yet, the 6-film 4K collection. The Dark Knight trilogy also has a particularly notable discount that drops the full 4K collection below $30, while all 10 Fast & Furious movies have dropped under $50.
Preorder Price Drops
Amazon also happens to be dropping prices on some of the most popular preorders right now. One particularly big hit has been a 26% discount on Project Hail Mary, which doesn’t even have a release date.
Keep in mind that all of these preorders are subject to Amazon’s preorder price guarantee, one of the nicer things about the retailer as a whole. It guarantees you’ll pay the lowest price between now and when the movie actually ships, which is when you’ll end up being charged, so you don’t have to worry about the price dropping lower after you lock in your order.
TV Deals
Similar to movie box sets, getting your favorite TV series on DVD or Blu-ray ensures that you’ll always have a guaranteed way to rewatch it. It also adds a little texture to any physical media collection.
Prime Day discounts extend to everything from prestige mini-series like HBO’s Chernobyl to long-running cartoons like the Adventure Time complete series box set. For fans of something a little scarier, It: Welcome to Derry season 1 is one of the most recent releases with a Blu-ray that’s dropped to its lowest price yet. To be honest, the cover for the complete series of Robot Chicken is also pretty terrifying.
Prime Day Is Dangerous for Physical Media Collectors
Prime Day deals have just kicked off, and its worth looking through the heaping pile of discounts for anything you may have on your wishlist. Other retailers have also unleashed their own sales in an effort to compete with the giant, including Walmart dropping its own spread of 4K deals.
Amazon Prime Day is generally one of the best times to buy 4K movies for a good price, even compared to a bigger sale like Black Friday. If you’re hoping to pad you collection with some more discs, this sale is the time to look for deals.
It’s Worth Waiting for The Criterion Collection Deals
The one exception to all that advice? The Criterion Collection. There are whispers the distributor is about to launch some version of its usual 50% off flash sale, and its worth waiting until you see at least a 50% discount on one of those releases to know you’re getting it for the best possible price.
