It’s the last day of Amazon Prime Day, and the majority of the best deals are set to expire at midnight. If you haven’t already checked out everything the sale has to offer, now is the time to do so. Many of these discounts are the lowest prices we’ll see until Black Friday, so it’s absolutely worth buying stuff you need while you can still save money.
The sale is also one of the best excuses to buy something nice for yourself. Literally everything is more expensive these days, and I recognize that the responsible choice is to put your money toward practical things. But what’s the point of being an adult with money if you can’t buy something cool just for myself every once in a while? If you’re looking to treat yourself this year, I’ve put together a list of 10 gift ideas for you to start with.
LEGO Sets for Adults
In case you didn’t know, LEGO sets aren’t just for kids anymore. In fact, a lot of the coolest builds released over the past few years have been targeted at the 18+ crowd. Here at IGN we’re consistently building and reviewing LEGO sets every month and can confirm that plastic bricks are fun no matter what age you are. If you’re looking to buy a new set for yourself, there are quite a few on sale for Prime Day we recommend buying.
Our overall top pick (and the most popular by far) is the Super Mario Piranha Plant build. It’s super cheap, fairly easy for beginners to put together, and also just looks flat out awesome. Here are a few of the other 18+ builds we recommend, some of which are retiring very soon:
A Book Box Set for Your Shelf
Quite a few of Amazon’s book deals have been live since the beginning of June, but these deals will finally end tonight. Seeing as Amazon is the largest online book retailer in the world, it’s not surprising that Prime Day is one of the best times to buy books at a discount. Some of the most popular new novels of 2026 are on sale today, but it’s the full box sets that are the best overall bang for your buck.
The best deal overall is the price cut on The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Deluxe Pocket Book Set. This is the lowest price these books have been in years, and the style certainly feels fitting for Tolkien’s iconic fantasy novels. Outside of that, there are plenty of other notable fantasy book box sets on sale worth checking out:
4K Movie Collections
Now that we’re deep into the age of streaming, physical media has been making a comeback. More specifically, 4K Blu-rays are becoming popular once again as fans look to collect versions of their favorite movies. And while it’s true that streaming services can stream content in 4K, the picture quality still doesn’t compare to what you get with an actual 4K Blu-ray disc.
Amazon has quite a few different 4K Blu-rays on sale for Prime Day, but the best overall deals going on are on full box sets. If you don’t already own it, the Middle-Earth 6-Film collection is currently at its lowest price ever and definitely worth grabbing now. There are also several other notable box sets available at a major discount if you’re looking for something else:
Nintendo Switch 2 Games
There are quite a few different video game sales going on for Prime Day this year, but some of the best discounts are on Nintendo Switch 2 games. The Switch 2 is one of the fastest-selling consoles of all time, but the actual games haven’t gotten many discounts since it launched last year. That seems to have changed after Nintendo announced a Switch 2 price increase looming in September, as now we’re seeing Amazon drop some great discounts on first-party games.
Our top recommendation is the discount on the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Switch 2 Edition, which is the first of its kind. There are also notable price drops on Mario games and even Metroid Prime 4 if you’d prefer to grab those:
A Pair of AR/XR Glasses
Amazon has quite a few TV deals for Prime Day this year, but who doesn’t already have a decent TV these days? If you’re looking for some cool new tech to buy yourself, AR glasses are the hot new thing. These glasses are able to connect to your phone, Switch 2, or Steam Deck to project a 201″ virtual screen into your field of view. This is the closest it gets to being able to stream Netflix directly from your eyeballs…for now.
The deal we’re recommending here is on the RayNeo Air 4 Pro glasses, which are currently marked down to their lowest price ever. We actually had the chance to review these glasses when they first hit the market and loved them.
A Cool Chess Set
Prime Day is a great time to find discounts on board games in general, but it’s also just a good reason to assess your tabletop collection. If you already have a big pile of board games on your shelf, why not instead look toward something that you can actually leave on the table. A cool chess set is one of those things that really classes up a coffee table and is fun to play casually throughout the day.
There are a lot of different chess sets to choose from, but the one we’ve been recommending during Prime Day is the Legend of Zelda Collector’s edition. It’s one of the most intriguing Zelda gifts we’ve ever found and happens to be discounted for the first time ever.
A Pair of New AirPods
If there’s one thing you can always count on seeing during Prime Day deals, it’s a discounted pair of AirPods. This year, the latest AirPods Pro 3 have dropped down to their lowest price since launch. They were briefly as low as $169 in the lead-up to Prime Day, but have since gone back up to $179. That’s still a great price and a good reason to pick up a pair if you don’t already have them.
It’s worth noting that while this Prime Day deal is likely to end tomorrow, the AirPods Pro 3 will likely get discounted again for Black Friday later this year. Apple recently revealed that it would be raising prices on some of its products, but AirPods weren’t on that list.
A Discounted Audible Subscription
As an adult with a full-time job and maybe even some kids thrown into the mix, the ultimate gift you can give yourself is time to relax. Unfortunately, there’s always something that needs to get done and finding that time can sometimes seem impossible. One potential solution to this folks have been flocking to is audiobooks. You can listen while you’re in the car, washing dishes, walking the dog, etc. Pretty much any time you’re doing something that doesn’t require your ears, you can be listening to an audiobook you enjoy.
Amazon is offering an Audible deal for new subscribers right now that gets you the first three months of a subscription for only $0.99 per month in addition to a $20 credit. This is the best discount we’ve seen on the service all year and it’s definitely worth trying out for that price. You can browse our picks for the best audiobooks available now to help you decide what to listen to first.
A Dungeon Crawler Carl T-Shirt
If you’re looking for something really cheap to buy yourself, a T-shirt is an excellent choice. Amazon has a number of deals on graphic T’s from pretty much every major franchise going on right now, each with various sizes available.
With that being said, the most popular shirts for our audience during the sale have been Dungeon Crawler Carl themed. The Dungeon Crawler Carl series has really taken off this year and these shirts are still fairly new, so they are worth checking out. And if you haven’t already read the books, you can pick up a free Kindle Unlimited subscription for a limited time to binge them all.
A Tiny TMNT Arcade Machine
Last but certainly not least, there’s this miniature arcade cabinet. This is the type of thing that absolutely nobody needs to buy, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. Unlike some of the larger arcade cabinets on the market, the TMNT Collector’s Edition is only a quarter of the size you’d expect. It’s meant to conveniently sit on a shelf rather than take up a ton of space in your home. It also lets you actually play the original 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade game.
This particular mini arcade is currently discounted to its lowest price of the year, so right now is a great time to buy. The competitor company Arcade1Up was shut down fairly recently and you never know how long these types of products will continue getting produced.
