The LEGO ‘Millennium Simba’ Set Is Just $14 During Prime Day Before It Retires Forever

If you’re a big LEGO fan like me, Prime Day is the perfect time to save on sets you may have had your eye on. The LEGO Simba the Lion King Cub set is one of these, and you can pick one up for $13.99, down from its $19.99 sticker price. It’s also scheduled to be retired on July 31, so now may be one of the last opportunities to pick one up at this discounted price.

We’ve also put together a handy guide for LEGO sets for adults during Prime Day if you’re after builds that are more intricate and look nice on a display. Many of the best deals right now are on sets about to retire.

This 222-piece set is a quick and easy build perfect for kids and adults alike. If you grew on on the original Lion King film like me, I wouldn’t think twice about picking this up to build for a rewatch of the Disney classic. It stands at only about 4in. tall, so its small stature makes it easy to make space for on a shelf or as a desk decoration. The cub’s head, legs, and paws are all posable, so you can set him up in dynamic ways to recreate his onscreen personality. The low brick count is impressive given the set’s detail, and some of the bricks have unique printed ears and eyes I haven’t quite seen before. There’s also a brick-built collection of bugs included, recreating Simba’s appetite from the film.

In a hilarious twist, Reddit user u/Minute_Food_2881 (Brad Barber) used the bricks from this kit to make a small-scale Millennium Falcon. You’d think that wouldn’t work well given the brick style restriction, but Barber’s version takes the shape of the iconic Corellian freighter extremely accurately. You can check out the build instructions over at Rebrickable.

Brad Barber has a long history of making some incredible alternative builds, but Millennium Simba was definitely one of the first ones that went viral. There have been a lot of different versions of a LEGO Millennium Falcon already, but builders have been converting other builds into the iconic Star Wars ship for years now.

More LEGO Prime Day Deals

If you’re after even more LEGO deals before Prime Day ends on Friday, June 26. There are a handful of LEGO Super Mario sets on sale (price-matching Target’s prices), like the Mario & Yoshi set, another one that’s will be sunsetted soon. LEGO Star Wars sets are some of the most intricate and detailed across the board, and the 25th Anniversary version of the 1,555-piece Imperial Star Destroyer is currently $50 off during the sale and includes an exclusive Cal Kestis minifigure.
